A melodic, lyrical composer and performer, Rob Mosher is as a musician well versed in the Jazz and Classical worlds, and is a proven creator in furthering the growth and combination of the two. Specializing on oboe, English horn and soprano sax adds to the uniqueness of his voice and displays his commitment to this principle. And as a composer he is redefining the role these instruments play.

As a composer and bandleader, Rob’s numerous and varied ensembles further demonstrate a blending and furthering the Jazz and Classical genres, including his 10-piece ensemble “Storytime”; a String Quartet where his soprano sax replaces the 2nd violin; Soprano/Soprano, a soprano sax and operatic soprano duo; and a jazz quartet.

Canadian born and raised, Rob has shifted base to New York City since 2004 where he is active as a leader and sideman.

The final portion of his first CD with Storytime will be recorded in May 2008. During this time he continues to perform with his groups and as a sideman. Future plans include furthering his current projects and blending his 10-piece with his String Quartet for a portable orchestra of his own music.
